26TH LUCILLE LORTEL AWARDS HELD MAY 1, NOMINEES ANNOUNCED MARCH 31

The 26th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be held on May 1, 2011. Nominations for these Off-Broadway awards will be announced on March 31, with a nominee reception on April 11.
The Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were created in 1985 by resolution of The League of Off-Broadway Theatres & Producers whose Board of Directors then consisted of: Paul Libin, President; Paul Berkowsky, 1st Vice-President; Robert Kamlot, 2nd Vice President; Dorothy Olim, Secretary-Treasurer; Jason Steven Cohen, Barry Grove, Eric Krebs, and Albert Poland.
The Off-Broadway League is a trade organization dedicated to fostering increased awareness and interest in Off-Broadway theatre and supporting the creation of new theatrical productions. Some of its programs include the Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway, Free Night of Theatre, Live Theatre Week, On the House in conjunction with NYC & Company, and other industry-wide marketing initiatives.
